Working closely with the Hansens and their architect, this project involved the renovation of an existing estate lot. The design team created a broad terrace entrance accessed by a new drive and parking area. The old drive was removed and replaced by a smooth, continuous lawn which provided a lush foreground for the entry terrace.
Off of the kitchen and adjacent to the terrace is a parterre knott garden that serves as an attractive focal point, as well as provides a variety of herbs for use in the kitchen. The rear yard features a linear boxwood allee with an ornamental urn as its terminus. Adjacent to the allee, a manicured lawn flows into a Bluestone terrace where the owners frequently entertain. This classic European garden complements the architecture of the home and extends the owner’s livable spaces beyond the walls and into the landscape.
